PowerFLARM Flex

The portable PowerFLARM Flex provides additional safety during your flight with alerts when other aircraft are nearby.  As the device is portable you can take it with you when flying other aircraft as the PowerFLARM Flex does not require any installation in the aircraft. For flexible mounting, you can use the RAM suction cup and diamond-shaped ball mount.

PowerFLARM Flex has an integrated color display that shows nearby traffic (including ADS-B traffic), collision warnings and error messages. The display is clearly visible even in sunlight and at night the LEDs automatically dim to prevent glare. FLARM can only warn of aircraft equipped with FLARM, SSR transponders or for obstacles that are updated in the database, which requires installation. Different profiles for the aircraft you are using the device in can be entered for easy switching when flying different aircraft.

The patented FLARM antenna is fully integrated into the housing, provides excellent range in all directions and has, as standard, ADS-B reception (1090 MHz). The device has a slot for a rechargeable battery in the 18650 format and provides an operating time of up to 10 hours. The battery is charged via a USB charger with a USB-C charging cable. If 10 hours is not enough, the battery can be easily replaced even during flight. 

There are three different power supply combinations. This flexibility allows the device to be used both as a portable device and in a permanent installation.
- Battery only via the internal, rechargeable battery
- External power supply via USB or RJ45
- External power supply powers the device while charging the battery

The PowerFLARM Flex offers multiple Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections that can be paired with various navigation systems such as Air Navigation Pro, SkyDemon, ForeFlight, EasyVFR, iPilot and XC Soar. In addition to the FLARM data protocol (ICD), it also supports the GDL 90 protocol, which is used by many apps.
